A little marbled pot... presenting a unique flow of varying colors, intertwined, dancing, creating a joyful flow, presenting a different experience with each turn of the pot.

Marbling can take you on an other-worldly adventure, stirring your imagination, introducing elements of fantasy, ever-changing, somewhat unpredictable, drawing you in and taking you on a deep dive into magical realism.

I opted for porcelain to keep a clean, crisp surface that will allow the complex and layered aromas and flavors of whatever brew you choose to be presented, savored, and enjoyed with no distractions, no interruptions introduced by the clay of the pot.

Marbling is a technique I've been developing for my clay surfaces after study of the many applications of marbling throughout history...
🖌Chinese marbling circ. 14th century Ming Dynasty
🖌Indian marbled papers circ. 15th century
🖌Turkish Ebru (translates to Cloud ink) marbling circ. 15th century
🖌European book binding circ. 16th century
🖌European Agate ware circ. 16th century

Marbling has been applied to many surfaces including paper and fabric, and it's continues to stir my creative soul while I delve into concepts for embellishing clay with it.

Hand-thrown, marbled, hand-brushed glaze, and hand-signed using sturdy and functional porcelain clay made in Canada. Each pot is marbled using pigmented clay then hand-brushed with at least 3 coats of clear or pigmented glazing, ensuring a durable finish.

I create in small batches. Each piece is thrown in the likeness of the next, hand-crafted, and with hand-brushed glazing. I hope you’ll agree variations in color, small marks from the minerals and stone in the clay, or slight sways in design resulting from working with natural materials create the charm expected and treasured in handmade pottery.

Food-safe materials. Dishwasher and microwave safe.
